Please Keep the Encouragement Coming

We need it more than ever.

Searching for the silver lining, I often overlook the blessing myself. Fixated on a single tree, I miss the beautiful forest that lies before me. The path to take I worry rather than enjoying the journey for what it is and what it will be.

There are many paths to take. Take one and own it. Figure it out as you go. Make it fun when you can. Cry if you need to. Stop to catch your breath. Gaze at the stars. Don’t be afraid to get a little dirt on your hands.

I’m currently in a funk and not the kind that makes you want to dance to Funkytown. Though maybe I should. Endorphins to the rescue.

I’m no longer denying the fact that I suffer from anxiety and depression. For a long time, I was skirting around the truth because I felt crappy for admitting it.

Why?

Because in my personal experience, it’s frowned upon. Anxiety and depression are not to be talked about within my family circle. Even though many of my family members suffer from it, we still don’t talk about it.

More on that in another story but for now I want to shift my focus on embracing the journey. We know to take it day by day. Moment by moment.
